How to Play 10,000

The player with the highest score above 10,000 points on the final round wins.

Starting the Game:

Begin by having everyone roll one die to determine the first player. The highest number goes first.

Taking Your Turn:

On your turn, roll all six dice.

  1. Set aside any dice that score points after each roll. (See the Scoring section below.)
  2. Decide: Either continue rolling the remaining dice, or stop and add the accumulated points to your total score. You must earn 1,000 points to start scoring. Once you’re on the board (with 1,000 points or more), you may keep any accumulated score you want.
  3. After setting aside scoring dice, you can choose to roll the remaining non-scoring dice or stop and add the accumulated points to your total score for that turn. However, if you choose to roll again and fail to roll any scoring dice, you lose all the points you accumulated in that turn, and your turn is over.
  4. If you choose to roll again and don’t roll any scoring dice, you lose the points for that turn, and your turn ends.

Your turn continues until you decide to stop and keep your score, or you roll no scoring dice and forfeit your accumulated score for the turn.

Scoring Your Turn:

Scoring is as follows:

Ones and Fives

– 100 points each

– 50 points each

Three of a Kind

   – 1,000 points

   – 200 points

   – 300 points

   – 400 points

   – 500 points

   – 600 points

Four, Five, and Six of a Kind

Each number over three of a kind doubles the points. For example,
   – 200 points
– 400 points
– 800 points
– 1,600 points

Three of a kind (and all numbers over three of a kind that double the points) must all be rolled together.

Example 1: Rolling a and then rolling another and another is 300.

Example 2: Rolling    at one time is 1,000.

Pairs and Straights

When a player rolls      when rolling all six dice this is a Straight.

When a player gets 3 sets of pairs when rolling 6 dice (such as      ) this is Pairs.

Pairs and Straights are each worth 1,500 points.

The Final Round:

When a player reaches or passes 10,000 points, all other players get one more turn in the final round. On this final round, players do NOT lose their accumulated score.

The player with the highest score at the end of the final round wins.
